Over Women’s History Month, we will hear from two professionals who deal with the complex intersection of reproductive health and political regulation. This will be hosted in the ZSR auditorium.
On March 5th at 6:00 pm, we will hear from Dr. Colleen Cardella, an OB/GYN in Charlotte, NC who graduated from Wake Forest Medical School. She will share her path to becoming an OB/GYN and her expertise on how college students should care for their reproductive health. Finally, she will share what she has noticed in her clinic as reproductive healthcare laws continue to change.

Christina Greer is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Fordham University, Lincoln Center focusing on American politics, Black ethnic politics, campaigns and elections, and public opinion.
Makeen Zachery is the founder of Blk Girl Culture, a digital platform with over 150,000 followers that amplifies the voices of Gen Z and Millennial women of color. She is also the co-host of the Black Girl Blueprint podcast, where she explores topics of social justice, culture, and empowerment.

Using excerpts from works by authors such as Audre Lorde, Leslie Feinberg, and Alice Walker, attendees will create their own poetry by redacting and reshaping text to highlight themes of identity, resilience, love, and resistance. This interactive session fosters creativity, reflection, and discussion around the experiences of queer women and nonbinary individuals in literature, offering a space for empowerment and artistic expression.
