Attendees waiting in line at the Wake For Women tailgate tent

Last Friday, the Women’s Center hosted our second Wake For Women tailgate of the Fall 2021 semester before the Women’s Field Hockey game against UNC. With an attendance of over 100 students, families and local teams, this was our most impressive turnout thus far! Wake for Women is a Women’s Center and Student Athletes Development initiative that promotes gender equity by raising awareness and support for our women athletes at Wake. Attendees socialized outside the tailgate tent and enjoyed our free pizza, beverages, lawn games and Women’s Center swag! We asked a student what they like most about Wake For Women tailgates:

“The fact that we were able to bring so many people out. We had such a good turnout…it was nice to see.”
